Gitjo Sound Samples
Todd Hallawell - Vinton's Hornpipe
Todd Hallawell is a world's champion guitar player, but he could be a world's champion Gitjo player too. He recorded this in his studio, but included the following information when he sent the track to us -
By the way, there is no EQ and no reverb on this mix. That's what this instrument sounds like! You might want to mention that on the website, no one will believe it otherwise.
We thank Todd, and hope he doesn't mind grand daughter Sidney's picture on the track, rather than his.
Jeff Larson- California Rails
Listening to a Jeff Larson album is like listening to a compilation CD entitled Best of America and the Eagles. I guess that is why he frequently plays and sings on America projects, and both Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, are found on most of Jeff's CD's. We first met Jeff at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, where he ordered his Gitjo. We have enjoyed his music and support for the Gitjo ever since.
This song shows how the Gitjo is being frequently used in recording studios by guitar players to get a banjo sound. The upside is they get to use their guitar licks, and they can play in keys other than G.
