Unique construction details

The decoupled X brace transfers energy more effectively over the area of the top behind the bridge than traditional tone bars. It also helps prevent “bellying up” behind the bridge which is typical of steel string guitars.

All braces are hand shaved to tune each top for optimal sound. Braces are applied after each top has been individually thickness to the ideal stiffness.

All necks are bolted on. Thanks to the easy access from the opening in the tail block, every neck can be removed from the guitar in less than 60 seconds. A 5/16 inch thick extension of the neck supports the fingerboard out to the 18th fret.

All necks are laminated longitudinally from at least 5 pieces. Graphite-epoxy laminates or wood-epoxy laminates are used in all necks to add stiffness and stability. The headstock is also laminated for strength and stability. All necks feature double adjusting truss rods.

All guitars feature a one of a kind custom rosette made especially for that guitar. A hand carved Zuni good luck fetish is found inside all Jenkins guitars - no one can have too much good luck.

The back reinforcement graft is a laminate of tone wood ,and a decorative veneer which matches the inside of the guitar. These are very beautiful, but are actually a valuable structural component of the guitar. This graft stiffens the back in the upper bout so as to help remove any structure stress caused by string pull from the top of the guitar.

These Accord Kevlar cases, which are imported from Europe, are incredibly light and strong. They are themselves a work of art.

Locking tuners make changing strings a breeze and really help keep an instrument in tune. Once a player trys them, he or she wonders how they ever got along without them.

Adding electronics, making repairs, or changing batteries is a breeze through an access panel in the tail block. Access panels can also be very decorative. No guitar should be without one.
